Thanks to supporters of “Necessary Roughness”

So I get this great comment on my Facebook Wall from Chrissy Carew, who sought me out because a friend told her about my book, “Necessary Roughness:  New Rules for the Contact Sport of Life,” and Chrissy is a “football girl.”  Besides being a master personal and business coach www.coachcarew.com , she founded another website, www.goodmenproject.com.  Her book will be out soon!  Watch for it.
This website on good men is a who’s who of sports!  She knows everyone I want to know!  And, yes, as the name says, it’s a social movement involving millions of people engaged in answering a core question of “what does it mean to be a good man in these modern times?”

Thanks, Chrissy, for your lovely comment on my Facebook Wall about my book.  Men and women both like it a lot.  They pick up several copies at my speeches.  Here’s the difference:  a woman will come to my table after the speech, and say, “I have a story for your speech,” and she does.  She will tell me the story, and then, will buy a book for herself, her sister, her best friend, and wants me to write each of their names in my autograph signing.  A man will come up to my table, stick out a hundred-dollar bill, and ask, “How many books can I get for that?”  He wants to get them for many women he knows, and he’s “not sure who yet, so just sign it—no names.”  Hmmmm—will have to do more research on this, but I know one thing.  He will make ME do the math on dividing $100 into $15-dollar books. . .men don’t have this thing about offering to do all the work himself, as women more often do. . .we can learn from this, women—DELEGATE!

A big thank you to everyone who has taken the time to write me comments about Necessary Roughness.  That’s really the reward for this change agent, whose mission has always been “to assist people to realize and achieve their full human potential.”  That’s what this book is about, using the big, strong men on the football gridiron as inspiration. Thanks for spreading the word!
